The permissive footpath takes you through upland pastures and diverse grassland created by the Countryside Stewardship Arable Reversion option. Open access in the field south of Hope Wood provides an opportunity for you to explore ancient woodland and fenland. This site contains 234 species of wild plants - over one quarter of Northumberland''s native flora. These include spindle tree, trailing St John''s Wort (scarce or localised in the country).
