Country Walk & Ride Summary

Ashford Bowdler Site B near Ludlow

Ashford Bowdler: This permissive access takes the walker on a diversion from the main footpath along the banks of the River Teme, which is designated a SSSI. Works are being carried out along the river under Higher Level Stewardship to fence the river against stock and to coppice trees and shrubs along the banks. This process lets more light into the river to encourage better vegetation cover, and in turn more invertebrates and more wildlife in the water and on the river banks. This route could create a circular walk or just be a more interesting diversion from the main footpath.
