Ossams Hill Farm near Grindon
This access route provides spectacular views of the Manifold''s limestone scenery and of Thor''s Cave where Stone-age artefacts have been found. On the eastern slopes there are places to examine beautiful limestone grassland. Around SK092559 a mosaic of hawthorn, songbirds and acidic grassland can also be explored. Peregrines and ravens can sometimes be seen overhead. The new access and existing public footpath form a circular route to or from Grindon. There is a tea shop and parking at Wetton Mill, there is also parking at Grindon.
