Muxworthy Farm near Barnstaple

Skylarks, soaring buzzard and a glimpse of the sea shimmering in Barnstaple Bay far to the west as you begin your walk. The south westerly descent negotiates a landscape transition from wild moorland to historic farmsteads sheltered by abundant hedgerows and woodland in the fold of the valley. Stonechats on the gorse, rich mosses by the boggy stream delicate Ivy Leaved Bellflower here too. Link via Kedworthy on Public Footpath to the Tarka Trail climbing upwards through farmland to the ridge road and CROW open moorland access.l
