Milk Hill Gate Farm near Ashbourne

An opportunity to leave the public footpath which crosses this field to explore flower rich calcareous (limestone) grassland and see a prehistoric burial mound. Enjoy the views of the surrounding landscape, shaped over the centuries by quarrying, which as you will probably hear during your visit, still goes on nearby. Caldon Dales Site of Special Scientific Interest is nearby to the south, and the scenic Hamps Valley in the Peak District National Park to the north.
