Ramsden Corner Plantation near Farthingstone

Ramsden Corner Plantation is an area of grassland, woodland and scrub developed over clay and Northampton Sand along a stream valley. The acidic grassland represents an example of a community type which is now rare in Northamptonshire and in Britain as a whole. The woodland consists of Acid Pedunculate Oak-Hazel-Ash woodland which has become re-established since the area was cleared at around the beginning of this century.
