West Hills Farm near Rothbury
West Hills Farm in the beautiful Coquet Valley runs a flock of Scottish blackface sheep in a low-input organic farming system. Two permissive open access areas allow visitors to explore the earthworks of West Hills Iron Age Hillfort and Old Rothbury Hillfort, and to enjoy spectacular views over the Valley. The two sites can be connected with a circular walk of approximately 4km (2.5 miles) entirely on public rights of way, except for a 200m stretch on a minor road.
