Thirwall Castle Farm B near Greenhead
Thirlwall Castle is a typical upland farm with sheep and cattle, lying on the Northumberland/Cumbria border within Hadrian’s Wall World Heritage Site. The land in the agreement is in several sections. Hadrian’s Wall National Trail runs through the main farm holding, which is also adjacent to Thirlwall Castle itself. Several parts of riverine Sites of Special Scientific Interest run through this and another section. The last section is adjacent to Tony’s Patch Site of Nature Conservation Interest (SCNI), an ancient semi-natural woodland.
